The brief was to redevelop a site, which originally was used as a glass workshop, to create residential units. The proposals involved the conversion of the existing structure and a new build element on the open courtyard area.
We proposed 5 flats comprising 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units some as live/work units in response to the Local Authority’s request for the retention of employment within the site. The use of modern materials on the new build element attempts to provide a contrast between the old and the new parts of the building, whilst keeping the scale of the development the same as a whole.
