The existing two bedroom property had been subjected to a number of previous illegal extensions and alterations, the quality of these additions had made the property unable to sell on the open market. The only option for this site was demolition and construction of a new four bedroom dwelling, the timber frame construction enabled the developer to construct at a fast rate and more economically then correcting the previous illegal additions

The design of the property as chalet style bungalow with a storey and a half front gable provides a greater presence to the streetscene, however a two storey property would not have gained approval with single storey properties adjacent.
