New build residential – Upminster, Essex
for All Saints Church, Cranham
project value approx. undisclosed
On behalf of the All Saints Church we were commissioned to redevelop a derelict site which once housed the church hall. The Church wanted a development that could accommodate people from a varying demographic and also had the requirement to re-house the local Vicar.
We proposed a residential development containing four detached family dwellings including the rectory and twenty self-contained flat units of various sizes. This reflected the church’s aims in providing homes for families and single inhabitants, creating a small community. The site also housed a derelict historic building, which was to be removed, however the Church wished to retain the character and history of the site within the new development. The design therefore reflected the church hall in both the use of materials and in style as a result of this request.
